We say: On immediately looking at the pictures in this deck you are reminded of surrealist painters such as Salvador Dali because of the precise use of paint and the sometimes disproportionate way objects are represented. For example, the Knight of Batons is much too big for his horse. All the minor Arcana cards, 1 to 10, are represented with no 'pictures', in a similar manner to the eight of pentacles, as shown above (centre). For the other suits the colour of the card changes, and so does the symbol in the centre. For example, cup cards have a heart with an arrow through the middle. For the court cards there is little in the way of background, it is normally just the figure represented in an appropriate pose. The 22 major Arcana cards contain more information but still lack the symbolism of other decks, so in all, we would say this is probably not a deck for beginners, as there is little material to help you on your learning path. Overall the deck does have a character of its own, in particular due to the style of painting.
