VAT in the UK is calculated at 20%. Books are exempt from VAT.

For most of our products that are not books VAT is calculated at 20%. For books there is no VAT charge.

We do however sell a number of products that are "mixed" VAT. For example this may be a tarot set that includes a pack of cards and a book. Manufacturers of these products often at point of production specify what percentage of this product is standard VAT and what percentage is a book. These figures do vary quite a lot, but a typical example would be the "Beginners Guide to Tarot - card and Book set" which says that 46.3% of this set is a book and 53.7% of it is cards. This does have implications for retailers and calculating their prices and VAT. If you would like any figures for mixed VAT products please do ask us and we can give you these figures.

Holistictrader.co.uk takes the security of your personal information and credit / debit card information very seriously. We use the very latest technology to protect the security of your card details.

The page in which you enter your card details is hosted securely. What this means is that the page in which you enter your card details is protected using firewalls (a method that ring fences the area in which your details are kept so that people cannot get at it) and Secure Socket Layers (also knows as "SSL" - this is an industry standard in which the information you provide us with is then encrypted so that other people cannot read it).

Your card details will be authorized or declined on the spot, so you will not be left wondering whether your order has been accepted. A confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm how much your card has been debited.

We pay a fee to use a third party provider (Natwest Streamline) to take your credit details for us online. The reason we do this is because we are a retailer of holistic products, not a security company. By using this method our customers can relax, knowing that they can shop in confidence, because the very latest in internet credit card security is in place. You can tell if the page you enter your card details is secure because there will normally be a small padlock symbol in the bottom right hand corner of your browser window and you may also be told by a pop up window that you are entering a secure environment.

We have a set minimum order because we are selling at low prices. To sell at minimum orders below this amount is not viable. Minimum orders are common to most wholesalers. The mimimum order value will vary from company to company depending on the products they sell and how they are set up. Our minimum is £120+VAT and the shopping basket will not let you proceed to pay if your basket does not exceed this amount.

Once you reach £250+VAT in your basket and you go to check out you will find that you will not get charged any carriage fee. Ie. orders over £250+VAT are "carriage free" or "carriage paid".
