We Three Queens - Sonia Palleck

On the Back
Three Strangers. One Star. A Journey at Christmastime.

One Christmas Eve, a trio of sparrows delivers a cryptic summons to three strangers: Cross the desert. Follow the star. Mend the circle.

The summons reaches three women who were not looking to be found: Imani Green, a Muslim lawyer in Philadelphia who has built her life on control; Jessie Pytka, a Catholic doctor from Milwaukee whose compassion has left her quietly depleted; and Hiroshi Suzuki, a Buddhist designer in San Francisco whose beauty masks a growing emptiness. They are each called to a desert that exists outside of time and asked to follow a star burning on the horizon.

Guided by fleeting signs and powerful messengers, each woman is forced to face the truths she has long avoided: the grief, the doubt and the fractures within. At the heart of their journey is the Sacred Mother, a fading embodiment of divine love whose survival depends on their awakening.

What they encounter in the desert will test them. It will take everything they thought defined them and leave them with something they never expected to find - in the wilderness, in each other and in the deepest and most forgotten parts of themselves.

We Three Queens is a magical, surreal and achingly human novel about the divine force of love. It arrives at Christmas as a quiet reminder of what the season has always meant - not the story of gifts, but the deeper message beneath it - what happens when the lost find their way back to the light.
